The player only controls Butt-Head, Beavis is limited to follow him and will perform any action in delay.
Beavis and Butt-Head have no means to attack or defend themselves, so everything must be evaded. The stages are filled with all sorts of life-diminishing obstacles, mostly bombs, moving objects or bugs. Sometimes you even have to solve primitive puzzles, for example, by collecting books and selling them in the bookstore. So, in addition to getting to the exit, you have to search each stage for money, which is found both in the surroundings and in lockers, garbage cans, coin-operated phones, and other things. However, at one point in the game, you reach a box office, and you can't continue if you don't have enough money to buy concert tickets. The main objective of each stage is simply to get from left to right. All stages consist solely of a linear floor. The game is basically a jump'n'run and can't be called a platformer, as there are none.
So, the infamous duo sets out to search all over town for enough money. Beavis and Butt-Head want to go to a GWAR concert, but have no money for tickets.
